A creamy-white dress would look amazing with those heels.

Mary asks…
If the average dress size of UK women is 16 why is there still all of this size 0 hype?
Also, if as a nation we are becoming bigger, why do most women’s clothes only go up to 32′ leg length (I have 34′ legs), and why do womens shoes only go up to size 8, many places sell what they see to be a size 8 but it is only a 7. I know I am not alone, being tall and having ‘big’ feet. If my feet are so big, why is it that the bigger sizes always sell out first…because I am not alone.
Another rant, why do taller people with bigger feet (ie me) who end up going to ‘specialist’ retailers have to pay a fortune?
When will fashion producers etc realise they have to cater for a wider market?

Our pick of the answers:
Hey
I totally agree with your point – I’m not overly tall (5’8) but I do have trouble getting jeans and trousers to fit me from the highstreet.
There is very limited choice out there for taller women on the highstreet, and it can be very frustrating trying to find even the most basic items. I actually work for a company called Long Tall Sally, and we specialise in clothing for tall women: http://www.longtallsally.com/. We also do larger sized shoes (sizes 7-11).
I’ve also come across a coule of websites which have links to lots of resources for tall women: http://www.extratall.co.uk/ and http://www.tallclothingmall.com/index.html.
There are a number of other retailers that are good for tall clothing. Tall couture’s great for designer style wear and Topshop and Dorothy Perkins are great for cheaper more fashionable clothing (they both have special capsule tall ranges).
If you’re looking for larger shoes you could try Faith: http://www.faith.co.uk/ (they go up to a size 9 on selected styles) and there are specialists Crispins and Elephant feet who both have stores in the West End.
I hope that is of some help!
Beth
